The Amazon Literary Partnership announced more than $1 million in financing to 74 nonprofits across the country

Amazon Literary Partnership is committed to supporting nonprofit writing programs and literary organizations that amplify emerging writers and diversity in storytelling

SEATTLE–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jul. 19, 2022– (NASDAQ: AMZN)—Today the Amazon Literary Partnership announced more than $1 million in grants to 74 non-profit literary organizations across the WE A longtime champion of the written word, Amazon Literary Partnership funding supports groups working to empower diverse, marginalized, and underrepresented voices, helping writers create, publish, learn, teach, experience and thrive in 2022 and beyond. This year’s cohort includes 10 organizations receiving a grant for the first time.

For the fourth time, the Amazon Literary Partnership also awarded scholarships $140,000 everyone at the Academy of American Poets and the Community of Literary Reviews and Presses (CLMP), which will fund dozens of literary organizations supporting poetry groups and literary reviews. The Academy of American Poets and CLMP will announce the recipients of the Poetry fund and Literary Magazine Funds grants at a later date.

Guided by the mission of having a lasting impact on the literary community, the Amazon Literary Partnership grants have supported over 160 organizations with $15 million in grants since 2009. Grants have helped tens of thousands of writers tell their stories, amplify their work, and find their audiences.

The Amazon Literary Partnership The 2022 scholarship recipients, including the Poetry fund and Literary Magazine Funds recipients, represent 30 states and support more than 20 new organizations that help writers throughout their publishing careers – from youth writing programs and publishing opportunities to residency programs, festivals and workshops in conferences and awards programs. Organizations like the Asian American Writers’ Workshop, Empowering Latino Futures, Hurston/Wright FoundationLambda Literary and Torch Literary Arts explicitly aim to support underrepresented, underserved and marginalized literary voices.
